Field Application Scientist - Clinical Genomics

Salary circa: £65k - £80k + benefits (depending on relevant experience)

Location: Field based - Offsite

Full-time - Permanent - Start ASAP

Remarkable Jobs are working with a Global organisation who due to substantial growth and recent acquisition are seeking to attract experienced Field Application Scientist who has significant exposure within Clinical genomics

This role is a home based and will require frequent travel (50% of your time) within the UK and some travel outside of the UK. This role reports in to the Product Manager

Our client is FDA registered and has ISO 13485 accredited facilities which support diagnostic professional's across the globe. They partner with IVD manufacturers, pharmaceutical, CRO and academic institutions. They share their expertise and resources in clinical chemistry, immunochemistry, serology, molecular diagnostics, and clinical genomics

Field Application Scientist - Clinical Genomics role will include:

Operate as primary field-based support and subject matter expert for the CBU (Clinical Business Unit) clinical genomics portfolio and applications
Provide guidance and technical support for the performance of CDBU reference material in clinical lab customers' assay development, validation and/or daily lab operations to help establish our products as a critical and gold standard lab QC tool
Coordinate pre-sales technical activities including product presentations, technology evaluations, conference participation, results review and required follow up to help convert early prospects into sales opportunities
Interpret customer needs and resolve customer technical issues by thoroughly gathering all necessary information and facilitating timely investigations
Identify, engage and work closely with regulatory bodies and consortiums to drive advocacy for the use of reference materials in the broader clinical genomics market
Develop and coordinate a network of close partnership 'early evaluation' sites for new product programs
Respond to customer technical support queries and complaints over phone and email
Provide input and guidance to product management and R&D on new/improved product opportunities

Field Application Scientist - Clinical Genomics skills will include:

MS or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related.
3 years' experience developing or supporting clinical sequencing applications in one or more of the following areas: Oncology, reproductive health, inherited and/or infectious disease testing
Strong understanding of next generation sequencing platforms and workflows, including Illumina and Thermo-Fisher Ion Torrent systems as well as multiple library prep/assay chemistries
Experience working with regulatory bodies and knowledge of regulations including CAP/CLIA, CE-IVD and/or global IVD guidelines
Driving License - Required
