We are currently looking for a Level 2 or 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join our Primary Schools as either day to day staff members or as short or long term staff. We are looking for someone who is creative, patient, supportive and an effective communicator to help aid in the learning for certain children within the class who may require additional support to help them achieve their full potential. This could be in the form of a 1:1 role or be within small groups within the classroom.
The requirements for the client will be to usually support pupils on a daily basis between the hours of 8:30 - 3:30, Monday to Friday. The clients we work with consist of a mix of LA Maintained Schools and Academies located throughout the Blackpool area. These schools are diverse in their approach to learning so someone who is adaptable would be a great addition to this role, but the clients can offer long term positions to someone who shows commitment, drive and performs exceptionally well. Sometimes you may have to work under your own initiative as the classroom teacher may be preoccupied with other tasks so a certain level of independence is expected.
We ideally look for people who display characteristics such as a calming presence who carries themselves professionally. They will also be someone who comes across as friendly, proactive and versatile in their approach to learning with great behavioural management skills as some children may have SEN or challenging behaviour.
Support pupils with their learning in 1:1, small groups and the whole class.
Collaborate with the class teacher regarding targets and expectations
Liaise with other professionals within the School eg. SENCO, Teachers, TAs, specialist support staff.
Support the monitoring and tracking of all pupils in line with the assessment procedures in school.
Helping support the class teacher with IEP's.
To develop understanding of emotional/behavioural/medical knowledge of the specific needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
To support class teachers to design, create and produce learning activities, materials and resources to support aspects of the curriculum or particular learning outcomes, and to assist and support the child in using them
To help, support and motivate the child, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning
Must have knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
