Are you a food development professional looking for a new challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Development Chef to work with the marketing team in our Government and Agencies segment to design and deliver food concepts and, manage recipe menu development for our catering, retail and leisure environments. Acting as the culinary SME between central teams and the segment, you will support to establish Sodexo as a culinary leader in the UK marketplace.

Main responsibilities
  • Influence and promote food excellence aligned to  the  Government and Agencies segment food strategy
  • Co-ordinate alignment of recipe and menu development protocols and processes
  • Ensure global processes are included in development process
  • Drive best practice for culinary excellence developing innovative methods to deliver
  • Fully support team to effectively test all recipes prior to launch
  • Liaise with design team, central culinary team and segment executive teams to execute briefs effectively
  • Working closely with central and segment marketing, insight and design teams
  • Ensure activity is managed to drive financial benefits and within correct cost parameters
  • Play a full and active part in driving culinary expertise within all areas of the Food Platform strategy
  • Support the Centre for Excellence as the leading environment for culinary innovation within Sodexo for the use and benefit of all segments
  • Collaborating with Global team to ensure optimised labour and food costs across menus
  • Supporting the Segment needs as required as a senior Chef and in line with demand tracker
  • Full and active role in leading initiatives as part of the central culinary team including NCF, RCF, Training, Product review and Innovation, Competition activity including Salon Culinaire and National competition events
     
Ideal candidate
  • Highly qualified chef at senior level with extensive experience in industry including people management, recipe and menu creation, ingredient knowledge
  • A genuine love of food, eating and creating exciting and creative dishes and highly knowledgeable
  • Fully in tune with current trends, able to demonstrate innovation at the highest level
  • A full and current working knowledge of ingredients and development of products in the market place
  • Wide network within the industry (suppliers, producers, chef networks, professional bodies)
  • Experience in recipe and menu testing at a multi-site, large catering environment
  • Experienced in Fine dining, restaurant style production to award winning standards 
  • Experienced in training and development and delivery of training programmes 
  • Strong background in managing food business designing menus and recipes to achieve financial targets and accomplished in margin management
  • Computer literate and working knowledge of Food Management Systems
  • Strong leadership and man management skills with proven track record
  • A broad knowledge of industry trends and the ability to interpret and translate new developments in innovation for relevant segments
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills with wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage a number of different projects at the same time including the allocation of resources as appropriate to deliver to timescales and deadlines
