This role offers a great opportunity to use cutting edge data to help improve our Waste Treatment Compliance.
As the Environmental Monitoring Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a high level of technical analysis to support our field operations. You will use your environmental knowledge and expertise to proactively identify and respond to indicators of potential Sewage Treatment Work performance issues. You will closely monitor rising trends, conduct analysis to highlight the problem and work hand-in-hand with our field operations colleagues to case managing these incidents to an effective resolution.
This role requires a high level of analysis, managing multiple tasks and systems at one time. Your day to day duties will include:
Monitoring key leading indicator data from our Sewage Treatment Works to identify trends, instigate resolutions and case manage the follow up actions.
Assist your colleagues in collecting and analysing complex technical data with expert commentary, advice and recommendations, as appropriate.
Regularly analyse and interpret complex weather data, producing reports and actions for our colleagues in the field.
Work with the wider team and external data providers to improve the scope and application of the environmental data we use.
Identify developments in the relevant technical specialism that may improve the business, and suggest initiatives to the team and/or line manager.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
Good communication and co-ordination skills as well as the ability to work well independently.
Degree level (or equivalent) in an environment related science.
Excellent relationship building skills.
The ability to conduct analysis of complex strategic issues and future scenario planning.
You will have confident presentational skills, as well as strong written, verbal technical and non-technical communication skills.
Experience of working with regulators is beneficial for this role.
Strong attention to detail, problem solving and insight as well as the ability to work well under pressure is key to the crucial role.
