Care First Recruitment Ltd are delighted to be working in partnership with Epsom and Ewell Borough Council recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer

We are seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer who holds a Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers’ Registration Board or holds a qualification acceptable to the Board, that is, Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) or a historical equivalent

The Environmental Health Officer will carry out detailed investigations and audits of registered food premises within the borough and carry out programmed foods hygiene inspections and investigations into food complaints and referrals and other food safety matters. They will inspect Category A-D food premises with scope for additional support to the existing team in other fields such as pollution, housing and health & safety and covid-19 related work initially for 12 weeks

Duties:

* Visiting premises to investigate levels of cleanliness and health standards

* Investigating complaints, cases of food poisoning, or pest infestations

* Arranging for legal proceedings to be taken against serious offenders

* Conducting courses on health and safety

* Ensuring that defective privately rented houses are made fit for habitation

* Investigating cases of serious infectious diseases

* Keeping abreast of legislation, writing reports and liaising with other safety team members

Must have:

* Good knowledge of the law around food hygiene requirements and enforcement

* Experience of inspecting and enforcing standards in commercial food premises

* Great communication skills

* You must have a full driving licence to be able to travel around the Borough

* BSc or Diploma in Environmental Health and be EHORB registered as an EHO

* A driving licence and vehicle is an essential requirement to fulfil the role
