MEH Alliance
The Engineering Manager role is based within our MEH Alliance business area.
It's a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's 2,500 rooms.
The role
The difference our new Engineering Manager will make
As a Engineering Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working in a large and multidisciplined team, you will hold directional and leadership responsibilities for all activities associated with design and engineering for Protection Services (caulking, insulation, fire proofing) over the full off-site delivery life cycle, with a particular focus on ensuring delivery to plan and mitigating delivery risks.
Day to day, you'll hold responsibility for ensuring delivery of all the engineering from all parties up to delivery to Site (HO3) in accordance with the overall Project schedule.
You will ensure planning and delivery of design and engineering is performed in accordance with all safety, quality and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project. You will work with the Joint Design Office (JDO) to ensure the transfer of engineering responsibility from Engineering Management to the JDO is managed efficiently and support is provided to the JDO as necessary.
Working with stakeholders both across our business and with our delivery partners at home and abroad, you will provide technical advice and seek to challenge the 'status quo' particularly where the Nuclear Safety case is concerned.

Essential experience
Track record of delivering technical leadership in projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector.
Demonstrable awareness of integrated management system and the different policies, procedures, standards and documents applicable to technical and contractual management.
Demonstrate significant expertise in Protection Services (Wrapping, Insulation, Caulking, Fire Proofing)
Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders and facilitating issues resolution.
Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Detailed understanding of PWR/EPR design and experience in PWR/EPR construction.
Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction or other related field.
Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either; APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
