Job Description

Staffline is recruiting for an Enforcement Officer to work with Waste and Environment Services in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire

This is a 6 month contract 

Salary £29,987 - £34,875 pro rata

This role will be home based and at Cambourne, with visits across the business

Your time at work

Supporting the work of the team in enforcement across the Waste and Environment Service to achieve team, department and corporate objectives

Liaising with planning and legal departments, Company representatives, Legal and Court representatives, Fire Authority, Environment Agency, HSE, Govt departments, Parish Council and general public

To lead with the education and enforcement for Covid-19 activities including Covid 19 complaints, enquiries and incidents, the gathering of evidence and attendance of Court proceedings

To support with the education and enforcement of licensing enforcement activities

To provide support with the education and enforcement of street enforcement activities 

To assist and support colleagues with enforcement activities across services including anti-social behaviour, noise complaints and animal welfare enforcement including investigating complaints, gathering evidence and attending Court proceedings

You will be required to interpret and advise on legislation

You will be able to prioritise your own workload based on public health risk and to work largely unsupervised

Our Ideal Worker

A minimum of 3 years' experience in regulatory and enforcement services

Extensive knowledge and understanding of current law, practise and procedures relevant to local authority environmental health and licensing regulatory and enforcement services

Excellent Microsoft, Excel and Word skills

Experience of communicating and delivering complex information across a wide range of audiences

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Must be willing to work outside of office hours

Access to own vehicle and driving licence

Able to work remotely and flexibly as necessary
