Job Description

How would you feel helping someone move into their own place to lead an independent life after years of relying on others?
This role involves having a creative approach inspire adults with learning disabilities who live in their own homes. Your role will involve: Teaching them new skills, how to manage their emotions and how to communicate with the world to ensure they can lead an independent life. You will be supporting vulnerable people that have needs surrounding: Learning disabilities, Emotional behavioural difficulties, Challenging behaviour, Autism, Learning delays or Mental health needs.
The role will involve supporting adults who are at a point of crisis with every aspect of their life including: Household tasks, Activities in the community, Personal care and medication administration

Role Responsibilities:
* Working with women and men with learning difficulties and Autism in their own homes
* Creating an individual and person centred environment within a 1:1 or 2:1 setting
* Taking part in activities such as football, cinema visits, swimming, bowling and much more
* During Covid-19 it is important to be imaginative and creative with activities
* Assisting and encouragement to complete domestic duties- cleaning, washing and cooking
* An understanding of both verbal and physical behaviours that challenge is desired
* Encouraging their social interactions with the community and people around them when safe to do so
* Accurate and objective record keeping and updating care plans and risk assessments
* Liaise with clients family, doctors and other health care professionals
* Promotion of dignity and freedom of choice
Role Requirements:
* Drivers preferred but non drivers will be considered
* Experience in similar setting preferred but not required as staff are trained to a high standard
* Experience of challenging behaviour would be beneficial to this role
* Understanding of learning difficulties and autism required
