Job Description

Employment Plus are looking for a Workshop Assembler / Eectro-mechanical Assembler for our client based in Wallington. This is a temporary position to start asap for 2-3 week, full time hours.

Job Scope

Assembly of mechanical and electronic/electrical stages of electro-mechanical items, ready to deliver to customers: Most of the units are built in the Box-Build section are pieces of test equipment used in the Oil and Gas industry, but we also provide the service for other industry sectorMechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical assembly, mainly with smaller tools, working to drawings and/or printed procedures.

Operation of various assembly/testing equipment (after suitable training has been given). Cable assembly (small scale with crimping and/or soldered connections)

Cleaning and other tasks associated with completion of products. Packing of finished goods.

Requirements and Responsiblities

Good understanding of assembly methods, standard assembly tools, and recognition of components.
Ability to understand technical work instructions, written documentation and spoken instructions supplied in English, whether or not English is your first language. This is an absolute necessity.
Reporting progress and any workshop issues to the Directors or Workshop Supervisor.
Familiarity with Windows (XP), and general document formats.
Maintaining records on the in-house computer system, JEMS.
Achieving deadlines without any loss of quality, and consistent and repeatable accuracy of work - we pride ourselves on very low levels of rework and customer rejects.
Good eyesight and manual dexterity with parts, but with the capability to put together small-to-medium sized electro-mechanical assemblies which may require some strengthCOVID-19 Information

You would be working in a workshop with other assemblers, but must maintain a 2m gap between people at all times. The workshop has sufficient space to make this possible. Hand washing and sanitization procedures are strictly enforced, and Government guidance regarding the pandemic is followed at all times. If you become infected or need to self-isolate, or are living with someone who becomes infected or has to self-isolate, you must follow the Government guidance and must not come to work.
