We are seeking an electrical technician to ensure that all equipment at our ‘Energy from Waste’ facilities are running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods.
The successful candidate will be working in a multi discipline team, with the responsibility of carrying out installation works on a variety of electrical equipment at a range of industrial and construction locations and involving a number of different processes.
To inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair electrical plant equipment such as electrical motor drive systems, associated control systems including inverter drives, as required within manufacturer’s guidelines and in compliance with current standards and regulations.
Examples of equipment that will require working on will be, 3 phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
This may lead to the need to carry out unscheduled emergency maintenance work.
Provide technical advice, making reference to up to date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
You will investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions to the process.
This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
Participation in a 24/7 out of hours’ standby rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
Are you a qualified electrical maintenance technician and who has electrical experience working on industrial plant equipment?
Have you completed an apprenticeship, or have a BTEC HNC or equivalent in an electrical maintenance subject?
We are looking for an apprenticeship-served, Electrical Maintenance technician. Due to the nature of this role domestic experience is not suitable but 17th Edition is preferred.
You must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and have knowledge of health and safety issues ideally relevant to the water industry.
A full, UK driving licence is essential.
