You will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective proposals resource to support the sales and marketing strategy; to include relevant disciplines required in the preparation of detailed tender documentation and proposals.
Roles and Responsibilities
*Technical and commercial evaluation of sales enquiries, ensuring that all relevant information is available
*Preparation of proposal drawings, tender documents and estimate sheets in accordance with the appropriate standards and customer requirements, and within agreed submission dates
*Work closely with the sales team and provide internal support to all sales related activities
*Maintain accurate records of all tenders submitted, including associated documentation
*Support monthly sales meetings and prepare weekly status reports of proposals activities where required
*Regularly review current procedures and processes in order to identify improvements to the quality and accuracy of the tenders submitted including preparation times
*Work closely with Design and Projects team to identify discrepancies and issues with final costs and designs against original estimated costs; and action accordingly to prevent future reoccurrences
*Liaise closely with the senior management team and provide support to other areas of the business i.e. design, projects, manufacturing, controls, accounts, installation and commissioning
*Establish effective working rapport / partnership with key suppliers, acquiring of an in-depth knowledge of their respective products and services
*Prepare and undertake presentations to customers on both a general and project specific basis
*Support customer negotiations both commercially and contractually
*Regularly review procedures in order to identify improvements to the quality and accuracy of the tenders and associated preparation times
*Maintain an awareness of company activities i.e. current workloads, projected workloads, manufacturing programs, customer feedback, etc.
*Work closely with the marketing team in the identification of promotional opportunities i.e. press releases, specific advertising, magazine features, etc.
*Experienced electrical engineer qualified to at least HNC
*Conscientious, hardworking, excellent communication skills, ambitious self-starter, experienced in proposals / estimating and management - preferably within a similar environment
*Robot experience would be advantageous
