My client are looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer. This role involves; organising and delivering specialty certification trainings, approving of chemical uses, waste disposal sites, technical procedures, measuring EHS performance and assisting with the building of regional EHS communication & execution resources to further sites EHS programs.
Roles and Responsibilities
*Typically leads 1-2 team projects a quarter and supports 5-6 long term projects (more than 4 month) at any one time
*Influences the actions taken at 4-6 sites within a geographical region due to positions' input
*Travel regularly, including internationally (12-14 trips per year)
*Works with Site EHS personal to evaluate Site EHS performance, EHS on site skill needs and opportunities for improvement within site practices. Provides suggestions to Regional Leadership & Site Leadership for consideration.
*Teaches Sites regulatory changes within the region and provides supporting technical information appropriate to their knowledge level for Site responses to government agency notices and other internal & external party audits
*Develops/helps implement with Regional Manager Regional EHS resources (training events, lessons learned, mind maps and other communication tools) which will help reduce implementation burden across multiple sites in a Country or Region
*Reviews and assesses governmental regulatory change notices to helps ensure the Regions' EHS team is advising sites on the most up to date requirements and maintaining accurate regulation performance measuring tools
*Helps Regional Management identify and implement cost saving opportunities that benefit multiple sites across the Region, as well as assisting in evaluating Site EHS budgetary needs, skills gaps and Regional communications/ responsibilities.
*Helps select, approve and manage 3rd party expert resources; such as consultants, laboratories, disposal sites that sites need to use in support of their EHS programs
*Must be able to teach teams of people technical topics associated to regulations
*Must be able to provide site personnel with actionable tasks, appropriate to their labor grade, which results in the site being able to execute on for EHS compliance
*Will need to work with a diverse range of countries within a Region to build understanding and consensus for EHS activities/initiatives
*Must possess accurate communication skills, be driven to improve EHS cultures, and determination see monitor and support projects that can span a yearlong implementation schedule
*Will be responsible for partnering with various functional teams with in a site to insure they have the understanding, access to necessary resources and support to maintain compliance with applicable EHS requirements
