Nurse Disability Assessor

Experience Required: at least 2 years post-registration experience

Location: Isle of Wight (Remote work for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19; laptops provided)

Salary: £38k-£40k with performance related £1000 pay rise every year for first 2 years

Hours of work - Mon-Fri - 9am-5pm

On behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Stonebranch Healthcare is looking to recruit physiotherapists, paramedics, nurses (RNLD, RGN, RMN) and occupational therapists for Disability Assessor role.

The Role of Disability Assessor:

•Conducting face-to-face interviews with PIP (Personal Independence Payment) claimants and detailing their health conditions via a proforma, which is then dispatched for review and decision as to eligibility

•Nurse Disability Assessor paperwork is similar to that used throughout the NHS and would be familiar to anyone with either in-hospital or community experience.

•This role is to conduct impartial, holistic medical assessments only and does not require you to make any decisions on claim outcomes.

•Home based roles mean assessments take place at a claimant's home (community assessments) with reports completed at your own home.

•Full training is supplied, including a residential two-week course, with additional ongoing on-the-job support.

What are the key requirements for a successful Disability Assessor?

• Essential: At least two years post registration experience, NMC/HCPC registration, Driving license

• Desirable: Experience working within the NHS and familiarity with the processes and paperwork.
