Job Description

Digital Communications and Events Officer required by a leading charitable organisation who work with community housing and residential projects across the UK. This role supports the Communications and Marketing team in the delivery of high quality communications, promoting the charity and its projects online and offline. The role also helps deliver against the organisation's marketing priorities, particularly through event management.

This is a full time, permanent position paying up to £26,000 per annum plus excellent benefits. This role is based in the heart of the City of London.

Core duties of the Digital Communications and Events Officer include:

o Support the Communications and Marketing team in the development and delivery of communications and marketing strategy, especially the digital elements.
o Lead on the day to day maintenance, content upload and development of the website
o Implement daily activities on social media channels, as agreed.
o Draft, create and distribute the charity's monthly update using MailChimp.
o Draft, create and distribute marketing campaigns using MailChimp.
o Ensure all digital outputs are consistent with brand guidelines.
o Provide copy proofing for comms outputs, including research reports, blog posts and other digital copy.
o Support the Communications and Marketing team in the commissioning of third party designers to create printed and other promotional materials.
o Research, draft and maintain an archive of case studies of the charity's work.
o Contribute to, and maintain, project communications plans.
o Identify potential digital channels, campaigns and co-branding opportunities, in liaison with the Communications and Marketing team.
o Manage the CRM and assist in lead generation activities.
o Assist in the planning of conferences, workshops, roundtables, and other events, including evaluating existing and creating new ones, and the charity's Annual Conference.
o Support project staff to deliver all event materials. Liaise with suppliers (venues, caterers etc) and oversee logistical arrangements for the delivery of events.
o Plan effective events to ensure consistently excellent attendance levels from targeted audiences.
o Use Eventbrite or similar software to oversee the administration of events plans to ensure the highest quality delivery.
o Attend events to help set up and deliver elements including registration and setting up presentations.

Essential skills:

o Excellent writing and editing skills, with specific awareness of writing for the web and social media.
o Co-ordinating logistical arrangements (e.g. venue booking, catering) for both large and small events.
o An interest in social welfare, community development and housing.
o Experience of publishing content to websites.
o Experience of publishing content and using social media to engage stakeholders, including use of Tweetdeck, Periscope, Instagram and Twitter.
o Evidenced ability and understanding of effective marketing of events and web content.
o Experience of working with either WordPress or Drupal or similar CMS, MailChimp or other online marketing software or basic HTML knowledge would be an advantage.
o Readiness to travel around England and the UK including occasional overnight stays (for which time in lieu will be offered, according to the organisation's time off in lieu policy).
