Babcock International and Devonport

The Digital Asset Manager role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role

The difference our new Digital Asset Manager will make

As a Digital Asset Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being responsible for ensuring Digital Asset Management capabilities are in place to meet ME&S business strategy and engineering requirement(s).

Day to day, you'll understand engineering design data from initial capture through to state-of-the-art design outputs (including digital twins, analytics, and visualisations), control and Management of data services to ensure data quality and assurance, collaborate with project managers to accelerate our customers' digital journeys through digital transformation, through IT infrastructure and innovation, provide the digital backbone to meet Company and customer requirements, advise and assist in selecting cutting edge methods and tools to enable the execution and storage of design data, providing technical assistance to Designers where necessary.

Essential experience
You'll need to hold a minimum of a HND/FdSc (or BTEC Level 5) in a relevant engineering subject or an applicable higher education qualification along with suitable experience.
Demonstrate a proven background in bringing about transformation and implementing positive change in a digital environment.
Have experience in the design, development, and through-life management of digital assets (i.e., 3D models) and outputs, preferably within a marine or naval engineering environment.
Possess sound knowledge and understanding of equipment systems material and process, together with an appreciation of inter-discipline interfaces and modelling, drawing and documentation support systems.
Obtain or have the ability to obtain SC Clearance
