Agriculture IT Support- Fulbourn-Cambridge

We are looking for the right candidate to work for one of our clients located in Cambridge (Fulbourn) to be involve with farm technology in the agriculture sector.

The location is Fulbourn in Cambridgeshire to work from Monday to Friday (36 hours per week) with a pay rate of £13.35 and after 12 weeks £14.42 per hour.

One of the requirements is minimum two years referencing including the last employer and all gaps of 28 days or more must be validated.

Our client has an ambition to become a leading provider of data based decision tools and services. This will enable our customers to make better on farm judgements, manage risk, optimise operations and ultimately achieve more from every square metre of land they manage. 

It has become apparent that in order for their business to succeed in this area they need to resource their efforts effectively.

Currently they have a small but expanding suite of digital agronomy tools both at a local, regional and global level which require support to allow them to launch, at scale, to meet their customers’ expectations.

Varifield is an example of the type of programme that requires a level of input and support. Close work with our digital agriculture team to build upon the existing framework.

There is an emerging need for a team member with knowledge in the precision farming sector. The person for this job will support the role out of our digital products, assist on the development of the tools they currently have, and help to connect farmers’ challenges with existing service offerings that our client has on place.

Therefore they require an individual with the following attributes to allow them to pursue their ambitions:
  • Knowledge of the precision farming sector
  • An understanding of grower challenges in the digital agriculture sector
  • An working knowledge of the various types of technology employed on farm businesses
  • IT skills to include the Microsoft Office suite
  • A basic understanding of how APIs can deliver benefits to business
  • Open to try new ideas and concepts and give critical feedback
The individual would work closely with the UK commercial unit team to build upon the local digital agriculture resources. The right person on this role would also have regular interactions with their customers and internally communicate with their global and North European territory businesses.

UK and some European travel may be necessary, but primarily based in our Cambridge office.
