An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a world-leading Engineering company that are offering a stable and lucrative career in their Design department. They require a Design Engineer to join their Conveyance System team at their Worcestershire facility.
We are looking for a Design Engineer who ideally has the following skills:
*To provide the major technical role that will sustain and expand the use of CAD (CATIA V5), Enovia and PROLaunch
*To expand the use of CAD within the engineering arena and outside of it, as is required to support the needs of the business.
*To liaise with customer and support agencies on file transfer issues.
*To play an active role in operating CAD.
*To take a lead role by acting as a Project manager on specific major projects as directed by the Engineering Manager.
*Develop and maintain project plans using MS Project for allocated tasks.
*To determine if existing product will satisfy a new application and/or can the application be changed to suit an existing product? When not, to ensure that technical needs of all new jobs are fully understood, agreed and communicated to Design/Manufacturing/Quality engineering.
*To support Sales Engineering when requesting technical information or sample product.
*To compile test qualification schedules and reports when required.
*To help prepare maintainability, reliability and provisioning data for customer needs.
*To support Design Manufacturing Engineering in the resolution of application/specification issues with product/process
*To compile and maintain track of product eligibility (Aircraft bills of material).
*To support Sales Engineering and visit customer to conduct trial installations and offer technical expertise/solutions.
*To play a lead role in understanding and using SSDD (Six Sigma for Design and Development) tools during the lifecycle of the product.
*Provide assistance to internal customer regarding Enovia issues.
*(Ensuring product definition, design checking, and approval as required).
*To provide design approval documentation when required: AEV's; DDP's; RSH's; Eng. Hold's; FMEA's.
*To support Manufacturing Engineers in resolving design related process problems. DFM's/DFA's.
