The role

As a Deputy PAG Chairman and Lead Planner (Submarine Dismantling Project) you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. providing all the documentation required to support all the Nuclear Operations Production related activities and processes conducted in the SDP.

Day to day,

  • Analyse the work lists and RDAR of all the Nuclear Operation Projects and subsequent variations against the requirements of the Rosyth nuclear safety management arrangements and safety cases to provide a listing of documentation required for the completion of each project.
  • Be a key stakeholder the 6-week planning process ensuring viability of the plan in line with the level 3 schedule and 12 week look-ahead aspiration. Supply delivery forecasts of activities whilst assessing and reporting on late deliverables against schedules.
  • Support Nuclear Operations in providing a procedure/test Index and integrated nuclear/test and commissioning plan with due regard to the principles of ALARP. This will include any commissioning and testing required to meet the project requirements.
  • Support the MOD DNSAG with the necessary documentation to ensure safe storage of the Laid-Up Submarines at Rosyth.
  • Support the handover of procedural responsibility and authority between MOD DNSAG Chairman Authorisation Group and the Rosyth PAG is formally conducted and documented.
  • Support Nuclear Operations with the authorisation of nuclear/test and commissioning procedures and supporting documentation ensuring that the necessary documentation for the control of work meets the quality and safety case requirements.

Essential experience of the Deputy PAG Chairman and Lead Planner (Submarine Dismantling Project)

  • A background in a construction/production
  • Operational and or production experience in Submarines
  • Submarine systems and Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) knowledge
  • Have an awareness of Nuclear Safety, Nuclear Management Systems, Radiological Protection, disposal of radiological waste.

This role is full time and based onsite at Rosyth

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
