We are looking for Data Scientists to work with us on the technical development of analytical products, using cutting-edge cloud technologies to develop innovative solutions.

Joining DWP as either a Junior Data Scientist or Data Scientist, you'll be working with unique, expansive, unexplored data pools, designing and deploying innovative digital solutions to secure, control and utilise this data to create and improve our services.

You'll be working within multidisciplinary teams, acting as a proactive link between technical, analytical and operational teams, offering advice, guidance and technical knowledge on data science solutions.

In both roles you'll have loads of opportunity for growth and learning - from the experts around you as well as more formal training and certifications.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

Applied maths, statistics & scientific practices: Understands the theoretical basis for applied practices and is beginning to be able to apply the theory to practical examples.
Communicating analysis & insight: Aware of the need to translate technical concepts into non-technical language and understands what communication is required to internal and external stakeholders.
Programming & build: Understands the process of software development and has a basic knowledge of how services/software components are developed and built.
Experience of using R/Python/SQL
Experience of working with others to identify areas for improvement and simplify processes to use fewer resources.
Experience of regularly monitoring your own and team's work against milestones ensuring individual needs are considered when setting tasks. Act promptly to reassess workloads and priorities when there are conflicting demands to maintain performance.
