The Data and Document Controller role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

The role

The difference our new Data and Document Controller will make

As our Data and Document Controller, you'll have a key role that's out of the ordinary, supporting a vital MILSATCOM Service Delivery Programme. Reporting to the Delivery Programme Manager, you will be a key member of the team, working alongside engineers, managers, and customer stakeholders and taking ownership of the Configuration and Data Management Plan and activities. You will ensure that best practice compliance and configuration management activities are performed within a complex defence project.

Day to day, you'll be accountable for the data integrity and document management in accordance with business policy and security standards. You'll ensure the efficient delivery and management of project data and documentation and train the various members of the team to ensure that they adhere to the required standards for data and document management and the use correct, configured use of the eDMS. You'll also perform periodic audits on the project to ensure compliance and be part of the wider Data and Document Management community working together to continuously improve.

Essential experience
Proven experience in data and document management and configuration and change control.
Ability to drive continuous improvement activities to ensure best practice.
Has working knowledge of defence and industry data management standards and how to apply them, including but not limited to:

o ISO 19475

o ISO 10007

o JSP 441

o JSP 440

o JSP 604

o Def Stan 05-57

o ECSS-M-ST-40

o AS9100D

o Ability to define and manage use of metadata.
