Job Description

Our client is a cyber security company working in Information Technology (IT) and OperationalTechnology (OT). They combine the very best cyber engineers with former military personnel to provide holistic cyber security solutions for the Energy and Shipping and Government Sectors, matching software products with support services. They seek a cyber security engineer to join their team as an employee, initially focussing on the following roles:

- Delivering a face-to-face cyber security training course to a well-known energy company in the Midlands up to three days a week. This role includes the following responsibilities:

o Delivering and facilitating training, coaching, and mentoring that encourages accelerated learning and results in new knowledge and skills applied into the workplace.

o Coaching, supporting, and mentoring all delegates to ensure they have acquired the technical skills and knowledge to achieve the standard requirements through classroom, online and remote delivery training.

o Completing internal and external training quality assurance activities where required.

- Supporting the CTO in providing consultancy services and maintaining our technical solutions. This role includes the following responsibilities:

o Configuring and deploying software and hardware platforms to maintain the security of our clients.

o Developing existing platforms and testing alternative technologies to validate performance capabilities.

o Actively participating in the continuous improvement of CPL security products and solutions.

Person specification The role would suit a motivated self-starter from a technical background with at least limited experience of cyber security. A level of qualification/experience equating to CompTIA Security+ and an understanding of ethernet networking to a TCP/IP packet level, which would enable them to explain common networking protocols for both IT and OT, and describe ways in which they can be subverted and abused, would be appropriate. A practical working knowledge of commonly used software tools including Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, John the Ripper, Hash Cat would be an advantage.

In-house training and development will be available, and the successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate continual personal development in cyber security.

Start date. From 1 December 2022.

Location. UK - wide, but note that our CTO is based near Cambridge and there is a requirement to work in the Midlands at times.
