Credit Controller - North Gloucestershire

£23,000 - £25,000 pa + £3000 collection bonus + **UNLIMITED HOLIDAY**

Yes, you read that right, a client who is offering UNLIMITED holiday.

Their office is based in a rural area of northern Gloucestershire, accessible from locations such as Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, Tewkesbury, Worcester and most parts of the Cotswolds by car. This is a brand new position for the company and plays a key part in their strategy to bring in-house all of their Finance functions (previously outsourced to a service provider). Despite the difficult conditions the current Pandemic presents, our client is keen to proceed with this piece of recruitment and will be conducting their entire interview process via telephone/video calls. If necessary they will onboard the successful candidate on a "working from home" basis until such time it is advised to return to the office. Pushing aside the appeal of unlimited holidays, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to come on board at an exciting time for our already established and successful client.

As Credit Controller you will:

Report to the Group Financial Controller and assume responsibility for a £2.5 - 3.0 Million Monthly Ledger, tasks will include:

* Liaise closely with clients to build rapport, ensuring all outstanding payments are collected in line with the company expectation

* Actively seek to resolve any queries, escalating where necessary to the Group FC

* Identifying and analysing root causes for delays in the collection of debt

* Ongoing review of customer credit limits to minimise the bad debt provision to the organisation

* Working directly with the sales/operations team to set suitable credit approvals for new clients

* Responsible for requesting restriction of services and decide whether to start legal action

* Reconciliations of customer accounts

* Bad debt reporting to aid the control of cash flow for the Group FC

* Provide excellent customer service and ensure queries are dealt with promptly and professionally

* Accurately reporting all credit control activity on the internal finance systems

* Providing support to the wider finance team

The traits they are looking for in a Credit Controller include:

You will have previous experience of working in a Credit Control environment, ideally gained in a service sector environment (Any healthcare or NHS experience would be highly desirable). The environment is very fast-paced and would you if you are not afraid to get on the phone to internal and external stakeholders to have the right sort of conversations to minimise bad debts. Internally, some of the conversation you will need to hold will be with very assertive, salespeople, your ability to remain assertive whilst being courteous and professional at all times will be put to great use. Typically other desirable experience includes -

* Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and initiative to apply logic

* Ability to deal with problem accounts and customers professionally and effectively whilst maintaining company expectations

* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders verbally as well as written

* Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups and Pivot tables), previous experience of Xero would be advantageous
