Covid Response Project manager is required to assist with the coordination, management and implement mass testing / contact tracing / other Covid-19 large scale initiatives across the borough’s population, focussing on agreed priorities.

Salary range is up to £42,000 per annum – Dependant on your experience.

Our Client is leading the local COVID initiatives in partnership with the County Council and are heavily involved in assisting with the setting up of vaccination centres, contact test and tracing activities as well as providing ongoing advice and guidance.

They are looking for an experienced and skilled Project Manager to ensure the Council is able to deliver the best COVID response to its residents it is able to.

The Role & Responsibilities:

* Organising and planning the Council’s various initiatives and proactively monitoring their progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate problem-solving initiatives as required.

* Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of all COVID related activities

* Assisting the Head of Environmental Health and Licensing to manage the COVID budget, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the project progresses

* Oversee the allocation of resources and skills within the teams and individual projects

* To provide strong leadership and programme strategic lead in the development, implementation and assessment of the mass testing programme; contact tracing and other COVID-19 initiatives, to protect and improve health across the Borough.

* To support the Head of Environmental Health and Licensing in formulating the strategic direction, priorities and plans for this project in line with national policy and local implementation.

* The post holder will oversee the design of the processes and procedures, the creation of operating procedures and support material, as required for managers and services users.

* The post holder will have lead responsibility for the liaison with all public sector partners, local businesses and, local residents as well as other organisations such as charities and voluntary groups.

* The post holder will play a vital role in ensuring that approaches to mass testing / contact tracing are coordinated and implemented by ensuring that residents are engaged and a complete end-to-end population programme is implemented to ensure the public health is protected.

* To undertake any other related duties and responsibilities as they arise and to be flexible with their working pattern to accommodate the needs of the Service.

Required Skills & Experience:

* Experience in leading and contributing to a wide range of projects.

* Good team management and communication skills.

* Experience of working with a diverse range of individuals at different levels within different organisations and engaging with them, finding ways to overcome obstacles to get the job done.

* Be experienced of working within, or have knowledge, of the public sector

* Adaptable to changing circumstances and quick to disseminate new information in a simple way to others.

* Able to work flexibly – which may involve home or office working in accordance with government guidelines.

* A current, valid driving licence.

* Desirable for the candidate to possess a recognised Project Management qualification or recent Local government experience.

* Good knowledge of COVID legislation and government guidance.

* Excellent IT skills – experience of using “M3” would be advantageous.
