Job Description

Are you a Graduate looking to expand upon your existing classroom-based experience? Are you looking to further your career in education , whilst enjoying the ability to choose which days you work and the schools that you work in? If so, we are in a position to help you to achieve your ideal role.

The Education Network are a Supply Teaching Agency with offices nationally. We specialise in providing high-quality Secondary School Cover Supervisors to our SEND / SEN schools and take pride in the strong professional relationships we form with both our clients and candidates . Our teams have the knowledge, expertise and relationships needed to help you to develop your career. We are proud of the fact that our best candidates don't stay on our books for long; they are snapped up by our schools before we know it!

We have a high demand for flexible Cover Supervisors, both on a full or part time basis. Although our roles are on a supply basis, we are looking to meet candidates who wish to build a long term career in teaching and would like to gain some valuable school-based experience.
A Cover Supervisor is a non-teaching member of staff responsible for the following:
o Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policies
o Managing the behaviour of pupils
o Dealing with problems according to the school's policies and procedures
o Collecting completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
o Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures

There are currently no specific qualifications required for the role of Cover Supervisor; however cover supervision carries a lot of responsibility so applicants must have the necessary skills and knowledge to be given charge of a class.

You should:

o Be familiar with the full range of school policies, particularly those regarding Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Special Educational Needs (SEN)
o Safely manage classroom activities and the physical learning space, including resources
o Have the ability to effectively manage behaviour

Posts are subject to Enhanced Disclosure Procedures and references. The Education Network is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
