The temporary Cost and Planning Controller will provide project control services to delivery teams ensuring full compliance to Investment Programme procedures, and support payment process. This will entail setting up and monitoring costs and income for capital projects within Developer Services. Ensuring all elements of the framework agreement is met with respect to budgets and financials.

You will contribute to the co-ordination of project delivery, supporting contractor payments activities and will enable continuous service delivery to our customers. This will give you wide exposure to the business and stakeholders at different levels to develop your commercial acumen.
What will this role involve?
Covering a range of responsibilities, this role will involve:
Setting up capital projects on their internal system (SAP).
Monitor physical and financial progress on a monthly basis as well as alerting the project manager when control dates and costs are about to be breached.
Assist with the preparation of investment committee papers by providing data that is consistent with SAP.
Produce and maintain cost, revenue and resource plans on SAP in conjunction with the project manager.
Maintain accurate cost and income posting by working closely with delivery teams, finance and business services, facilitating refunds, invoices, journal transfers etc.
Ensure that project commissioning and settlement are performed routinely on SAP.
Prepare breakdown for rechargeable water main schemes and service connections when required, and communicate to customers.
Ensure Infrastructure Alliance and TW capex requirements are complete for site start and delivery for the water main schemes and payment application process.
What skills are we looking for?
This is an excellent opportunity to join the largest water company in England and make a positive contribution to the Developer Services team. You will be analytical and numerically minded and will be confident with MS Office, in particular Excel. You will have gained practical work experience within a busy and financially focused position and you will be able to work to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will come from a finance background however someone who is able to prioritise and manage multiple workloads is key. Ideally experience with SAP will be desirable, but not essential. To be successful you will possess high attention to detail and will be capable of handling complex data.

This ongoing exciting temporary position is based in central Reading, close to the town centre and train station. We are offering a hourly rate of £13.50 depending on skills and experience.
