An exciting opportunity has arisen for an On-site Contract Manager role based in Thatcham. The role is to manage an on-site operation at our client site. The contract is part of an established National Contract, providing temporary labour to meet the fluctuating needs of their driving and Industrial business.

The role of the Contract Manager is to provide the highest possible levels of customer service to our contractors, clients and internal colleagues. This is a very hands on role being at the core of our contract ensuring complete understanding of all parts of the business reporting in to the Area Manager.

As Contract Manager your duties will include:
-Managing a small on-site team of coordinators
-Daily planning and scheduling to ensure fulfilment and any extra requirements are met
-Client relationship building
-Achievement of KPIs and SLAs
-Management, recruitment and motivation of temporary employees
-Induction and training of temporary employees
-Understanding recruitment

On a day-to-day basis you will need to manage the changing operational needs of the client reacting effectively to deliver value. This is a multi-tasking role, which requires a level head and the ability to be highly organised and efficient.

Responsibilities include:
-Recruitment of Class 1 & 2 drivers and warehouse temp staff
-Understanding and managing all elements of running a transport division (including understanding drivers legal hours/ rest/ licences etc)
-Meeting KPIs and building strong relationships with key contacts, whilst valuing business needs
-Establishing robust recruitment and selection processes for drivers and warehouse workers
-Monitoring attendance, sickness, lateness and managing the process to ensure compliance
-Attending client operational reviews and meetings as required
-Actively manage all HR elements of employing a temporary workforce
-Write and publish adverts to ensure the relevant recruitment campaigns are completed

The ideal candidate essentials are:
-Complete understanding of Class 1 & 2 driver regulations/ rules
-Experience of running a logistics contract
-Experience in Contract / Industrial recruitment and / or management of an on-site operation
-A track record showing ability to take ownership and using initiative to improve performance
-Experience in team management and ability to increase motivation
-Knowledge of staff reviews
-A friendly, flexible attitude and be self-motivated with a commitment to lead by example in a results orientated environment.

The successful candidate will be flexible in their working hours and locations, although there is a night service to manage out of hours activity there will be an expectation to deal with issues over a weekend or evening. During peak periods some weekend work will be required.
