Compliance and Risk Manager
The company
Leading and award winning company have a permanent opportunity for a Compliance and Risk Manager in their central Bristol office. The role is a great move if you are looking to work for a very stable, secure yet growing company.
The core hours are Mondays to Fridays 08.30 to 17.00. A degree of flexibility will be required to suit the needs of the job.
Salary is £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The Job
- Leading by way of a "hands on" approach on operational matters relating to Compliance, Risk, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

- Promoting, developing and establishing processes, procedures and a positive safety and compliance culture within the Company

- Overall responsibility to achieve and maintain ISO compliance and accreditations including enforcement and remedial advice in areas audited

- Responsibility of internal auditing to ensure compliance in SHEQ and various accreditations and engaging with and working with external auditors when and where required

- Team management and development of SHEQ and Compliance, driving SHEQ objectives and targets

- Providing the Board with information and regular reports in relation to risk, compliance, SHEQ and wellbeing including risk assessments, recommendations and remedial actions

- Organising and presenting training on SHEQ and Compliance

- Creating systems, processes, procedures and policies in relation to Compliance and SHEQ and ensuring these are updated and policies enforced when required

- Completing and updating risk assessments and method statements

- Identifying the probability and impact of upcoming risks

- Ensuring all risk processes are fully documented and implementing procedures to ensure effective risk monitoring

- Responding to customers in relation to SHEQ queries and be available to deal with and respond to any audits carried out by customers in relation to SHEQ and compliance

In order to be successful for this role it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following:

- Relevant degree and/or NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, relevant professional membership (CMIOSH preferred)
- Extensive Enterprise Risk management experience

- A minimum of five years field auditing experience

- Management systems experience (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and an awareness of ISO 27001) Lead auditor experience desirable

- Experience of ensuring GDPR compliance

- The ability to keep updated on any relevant changes in compliance and the law and be able to identify training needs

- Experience of developing behavioural change programmes

- Able to manage time and work under pressure to tight deadlines

- Able to manage the demands of numerous tasks

- Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment

- Excellent management, written and verbal communication and influencing skills

- Excellent proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

- Excellent commercial awareness
