Job Description

Are you interested in working directly with offenders, known as service users?  Are you interested in playing an important part in changing lives for a safer community?

We currently have an opportunity for Community Payback Supervisors / Officers to join BeNCH CRC. We are specifically looking for candidates who would like to work part time or sessional hours and are interested in working Saturday and/or Sunday.

You will supervise groups of service users working on projects to improve local areas, helping them learn practical skills in DIY, decorating, basic woodwork, gardening and conservation work. You will also source and risk assess potential projects, liaising with beneficiaries, and ensuring that sufficient and appropriate projects are available. You will liaise with colleagues across BeNCH CRC to ensure continuity during their supervision.

You will be expected to impart work-related skills and act as a role model. You will need to develop a rapport with service users from a range of backgrounds, with the aim of encouraging and supporting them to change their behaviours. Training will be provided with on going support and guidance.

We are looking for organised individuals who are calm under pressure and flexible towards working hours, as job holders must work weekends and some evenings. Unsocial hours pay enhancements apply for weekend working.

Package description

Starting salary £23,039 per annum 

37 hours per week - will be required to work weekends

Defined contribution pension scheme, company sick pay, group discount scheme.

Travel to work sites and Local Management Centres across the County will be required. There are elements of lone working in this role.

Main responsibilities
  • Manage and develop all aspects of placement finding in line with the community payback operating model and CRC policy and unpaid work manual.
  • Quality assure all placements in line with CRC policy and health and safety legislation.
  • Where required, organise staffing resources on a day to day basis to deliver the service provision.
  • Manage the upkeep and organisation of all physical resources for effective delivery and health and safety.
  • Ensure key performance targets for community payback are met.
  • Liaise with NPS updating on suitable provision for high risk cases.
  • Offer advocate, advice and guidance on all aspects of community payback including promotion of services.
  • Attend and participate in local area and regional meetings including partnership meetings as directed to develop community payback and secure work opportunities.
