I am currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Manager to work with a Council in Berkshire on a contract basis.
The Council is running a community engagement programme to capitalise on the community spirit brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. The post holder will drive forward the evolving programme within a complex and moving context. The Post Holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of outcomes to time and budget while retaining flexibility to enable the programme to respond to and build on new opportunities as they arise and adapt to learning as it occurs.
Duties will include:
To oversee the implementation of the enabling and engaging our communities work programme
Work across a wide range of stakeholders including the voluntary sector, council departments, members, partner organisations and the wider public in order to deliver the recommendations outlined in the communications and engagement strategy
Overseeing the delivery of programme work streams and procuring the appropriate services supported by council officers
Scope and develop new approaches and innovative models for involving and empowering underrepresented/marginalised communities
Overseeing the successful delivery of the programme and cross-cutting work streams, including development, delivery, review and support;
Working with colleagues, partners and residents to enable their participation and strengthen programme planning and delivery;
Supporting work across relevant Council departments to ensure the successful delivery of the programme
Taking responsibility for the successful delivery of programme outputs and outcomes.
Delivering the programme within the budget
To operate in a highly political and sensitive environment.
Lead and support commissioning and procurement activities to inform the council and other relevant decision making bodies.
Develop a clear work programme to achieve agreed outcomes based on customer need, evidence informed research and good practice.
Coordination of a team of council officers leading on project workstreams
Lead on the development of an Engagement Framework for the Council
Applicants must be highly experienced in public sector community engagement.
