About the Role

In this role you will report to the Senior College Officer. You will lead a team of College porters and Casual staff ensuring they carry out their duties. This will involve organising rotas to accommodate business needs. You will be responsible for security duties which will includes the physical security of the College buildings and outside areas and portering duties which includes the setting up of rooms for meetings, dinners, conferences. You will also assist with office moves when the occasion arises.

You will be responsible for outside contractors ensuring that they respect the Health and Safety policy of the College.

Other responsibilities  include Ceremonial duties , Reception cover, daily banking, events support and reporting any H&S issues to the Property Manager or Health and safety Officer.

Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills

A good command of English and the ability to use IT systems efficiently and effectively (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are essential as are excellent organisational, communication (both verbal and written) skills. The ability to work with high degree of accuracy and to tight deadlines is also essential.

The ability to take action in an emergency such as being able to isolate power and water and call the appropriate emergency services and be able to carry out simple maintenance tasks is desirable as is the ability to prioritise day-to-day workloads under minimum supervision. You will be confident, conscientious, flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
