Job Description

An exciting opportunity based in Reading for a well-established company who have built themselves an excellent reputation for innovative and high quality products.

They are recruiting for a CNC Precision Grinder where you will need to carry out a specific cell process, being able to carry out all the inspection criteria involved within that process.

Roles and Responsibilities

*To set and operate external and internal CNC Shigiya grinders and Manual RM250 Studer Grinders. All Macro programs are produced by the operator
*Work to complex engineering drawings, process specifications and stage drawings
*Inspect own work by use of height checks, air gauging, comparators and Keyence Vision systems
*Multi machine working of similar machining centres
*Experience with exotic materials i.e. Stainless steels, chromium, Nitrided and case hardened materials
*Ideally apprentice trained
*Ability to work using own initiative

Principal Accountabilities

*Production of high quality complex aerospace components
*Accurately records required data on relevant documentation
*Responsible for inspection of own work in line with Quality Audit procedure
*Work in and maintain a clean work environment
*Adopts lean principles in line with companies principles
*Standard Time achievement
*Quality - to ensure all parts conform to relevant quality standard
*Works in a safe environment and in a safe manner
*Performs basic preventative maintenance activities on machinery in line with company policy
*Flexible positive approach to shift patterns when requested
*Expected to work overtime when requested
*Expected to work in any area of manufacturing that fits skill level

Desirable Qualities

*Reasonable standard of secondary education or equivalent
*A recognised engineering apprenticeship
*Previous experience of engineering / manufacturing role ideally within aerospace
*Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
*Able to adopt and fit in with philosophy / culture / values / honesty / trust
*Good timekeeping and attendance record in line with company policy
*Has a positive attitude to Lean manufacturing tools and techniques including 5
