Category Manager

Milton Keynes

£37,000 plus benefits: 25%+ Pension, Individual and Team Bonus,

T2M have recently been instructed by a public sector client on a new role of Category Manager to manage the supply chain for construction and facilities management services across the globe. This role of Category Manager operates as part of a procurement team focussed on negotiating and managing suppliers to ensure optimum supplier performance, compliance and value for money.

Duties of a Category Manager:

* Ensuring supplier performance, value for money and assurance of service delivery

* Sourcing, organisation and management of suppliers for the estates function

* Analyse spending trends and patterns across goods/services

* Managing supplier spending in line with company policy and procedure

* Provide reports on supplier performance and costs to management teams

* Complete tenders process such as planning, documentation, and qualification

* Oversee procurement to ensure regulatory compliance

* Work with Project Managers and teams to reach contract completion

* Promote the business to help generate revenue through internal and external customers

Requirements to be successful as a Category Manager:

* CIPS or relevant qualification in procurement

* Knowledge of New Engineering and Construction Contracts (NEC 3 & 4)

* Willing to work to commercial outcomes such as value for money

* Team player that can work well as part of a team

* Dedicated to providing top quality services

* Capable of seeing the bigger picture for the business as a whole

* Recent roles in procurement roles for construction and facilities management

* Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook

Beneficial experience and qualifications to the Category Manager role:

* MCIPS qualification

* Previously dealt with government and defence supply chains

* Global supply chain and contracts

This role is based out of Milton Keynes however will be remote/flexible working due to Covid-19 until social distancing allows work in the office.

This role requires security clearance to be obtained at SC level, this will be required before starting the role
