CS&A Engineer Apprenticeship:

Typically the type of work that an Engineering Apprentice will be involved in will include a mix of structural and civil analysis and design, 3D model and 2D drawing development, site surveying activities, support to constructional and installation, and project administration and management:
Design - assisting in the development of technical solutions by producing design models, calculations, reports and drawings, surveying of sites, using appropriate analysis and relevant codes
Modelling and Drawing - assisting in the development of 3D models in Autodesk Revit, 2D drawings in Autodesk AutoCAD and clash detection and sequencing activities in Autodesk Navisworks.
Construction and Installation Support - supporting hazard elimination and risk reduction activities, responding to technical queries and non-conformances, operating quality systems and Health, Safety and Risk Management procedures and checking specified technical aspects of site activities.

The aim of the apprenticeship is to develop an individual as a competent CS&A Engineer, with the added benefit of obtaining hands on experience in nuclear new build, decommissioning and defence projects. We would also support the individual in achieving Professional Recognition through the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Possible placements:

The role will require the individual to participate in various areas of practical and theoretical training combined with the Company specific training given in the workplace.

Candidates will gain a solid foundation within a professional design office and have the opportunity to learn from professional and friendly individuals.

Apprentices also attend university to complete a nationally recognised Level 6 qualification.

Qualifications you'll get:

Level 6 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard

What you'll need:

To apply you will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher (or equivalent) with English and Mathematics at B/6 or higher and 3 strong A Levels in STEM subjects or equivalent Level 3 qualification e.g. BTEC at Merit or Distinction with a strong mathematical element.

Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level before taking the end-point assessment.

The ability to gain SC clearance.
