About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking for a Change Control Manager to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world.

We are not without our challenges; whilst we continue to provide the Royal Navy with safe, highly capable Vanguard and Trafalgar classes of submarine, we are also preparing for the future - the Astute class submarines - the largest, most advanced and most powerful attack submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy.

You'll be involved with developing and maintaining effective working relationships with our customer and stakeholders; managing our customer's change requirements to ensure contractual compliance; monitoring project performance; ensuring your own work outputs meet Project/Project Management Organisation (PMO) requirements; supporting compiling and then reviewing Variation Orders (VOs - changes to originally agreed scope) for accuracy and completeness.

You'll be educated to minimum HNC level in a relevant Engineering, Technical or Technology related subject; knowledge and/or significant experience of submarine systems or a naval marine based environment is preferable.

We would also like you to have the following:

A keen eye for detail, as checking for technical/contractual accuracy is a key output of the role
Ability to apply Project Management tools and understand their use throughout the project management lifecycle,
Experience/understanding of the the Project Delivery Framework (PDF - method for delivering projects) and project management principles.
Applications from Naval Service Leavers are particularly welcome.Lastly, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders, including Submarine business unit teams and MoD staff.

What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This will require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.

Babcock offers a supportive environment including: enhanced employment terms and conditions, money purchase pension scheme with life assurance, share ownership scheme, Occupational Health services, career opportunities and specialist advice and guidance from our Learning & Development teams.
