Working in the catchment control section of the water quality team you will be responsible for undertaking a range of activities to ensure the company has a robust understanding of land use within our catchment and potential impact on water quality, thereby ensuring compliance with drinking water standards in the region.

This is a great opportunity to combine knowledge of water pollution and how various catchment activities can potentially affect water quality.
You will be working to ensure that the company has a robust catchment risk assessment as part of its drinking water safety plans by gaining a detailed understanding of land use within the supply area.
What will this role involve?
Interpretation and analysis of water quality and land use datasets.
Delivery of the catchment walk-over programme.
Producing accurate records of land use in the catchment including the production of land use maps using ArcGIS.
Communication of findings to internal stakeholders.
Maintaining the catchment risk assessment element of the company's drinking water safety plans.
What skills are we looking for?
A graduate, or equivalent, in environmental sciences or geography. You must be able to apply knowledge and effectively communicate your findings to internal stakeholders via reports and presentations.
You need to have excellent attention to detail and to be highly organised as you will be working with large datasets and producing documents for our regulators.
Some knowledge of the regulations that apply to the water industry is desirable.
Experience with GIS is desirable.
A full driving licence is required for this role as some of the work will be field-based.
This is a 12 week contract based in Reading. We are offering a salary of up to £25,000 per annum depending on your level of experience.
