C# Developer (£30k - £40k) - Belfast
What sort of organisation would you prefer to work in?
Would it be in a smaller company that has all the energy of a start-up and you can get exposure to the full development lifecycle as well as getting involved in other areas like DevOps?
Or is it in a larger organisation that can provide you with great job security, career progression, etc?
Well, this job provides both.
This local fintech company was acquired by a global company in 2019. They are not a massive global corporation as they only employ around 200 people worldwide, but this was the third acquisition they made at the time. Since 2019, they have acquired two more businesses.
This local company developed a data compliance platform that reduces market data compliance risk. Many firms struggle with the ever-increasing complexity and variety of stock exchange policies and administration requirements. This platform puts in place automated processes designed by industry-leading experts with a focus on automating compliance, reporting and policy management.
Although they were bought over, they still operate pretty much independently here in Belfast. There are three in the development team, a DevOps engineer, as well as infrastructure and support staff.
The job has come about as due to expansion. The global fintech industry continued to grow in 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Additional resource is needed to expand on existing products as well as building exciting new projects in the future. The fintech sector continues to move forward even in difficult circumstances.
I have placed several people with this company over the years and the feedback has been fantastic!
To give you an idea of the culture of the company, during the pandemic the CEO has been very transparent with employees and set up a fortnightly video call with all employees to keep them reassured during these difficult times.
