Location: Gloucester
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum + bonus
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

I am looking for a Buyer to join a company whom specialise in support of the construction market.

The role will predominantly revolve around assisting the Group Procurement Manager with maintaining strong relationships with new and existing suppliers focusing on developing supply chains.

This position will be based out of the company's head office in Gloucester.

Responsibilities of the Buyer:
" Issue Purchase Orders for suppliers and subcontractors.
" Resolve differences regarding supplier costs, quality, deliveries and payments.
" Ensure Purchase Order delivery dates are always up to date and reports any issues to the Operations team.
" Ensure continuous supply of goods and materials & escalate problems which may impact on business.
" Review ERP system daily, ensuring and maintaining adequate supply of materials in line with operational demands.
" Identify and select the suppliers, negotiating prices and conditions, as well as comparing offers of suppliers.
" Sourcing of alternative products/ suppliers when items not available.
" Validates Supplier and Sub-contractor invoices.
" Reviewing and adjusting Safety stock levels and raising Purchase Orders to replenish stock& van stock.
" Research and evaluate the opportunities to reduce cost.
" Stock management and target a reduction in inventory levels by monitoring usage.
" Review and oversee onsite and off-site - stock level / stocktakes / stock valuations.
" Ensure all the catalogue products are up to date and well organized (part numbers, description, categories, price, etc.)
" Booking in materials from delivery's and updating PO status.
" Monitor Supplier Delivery and Quality Performance.

Requirements to become the Buyer:
" Experience or involvement with MRP/ERP.
" Candidates with CIPS qualification (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply), would be desirable
" 3 years' experience of buying & stock control products in a fast-paced environment.
" Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software.
" Broad end to end supply chain and operations process knowledge.
" Strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with suppliers and colleagues in all functions.
" Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organisation and handle multiple projects simultaneously within set timeframes.
