Primary Role - Purchase Orders
Our client is Northern Powergrid, based in Penshaw. Their vision is to be the best energy company in serving their customers whilst delivering sustainable energy solutions.
Details of the role:
37 hours, Monday to Friday, 8.30 to 4.40 (46 minutes lunch) - Flexi Time
Processing of purchase orders for a number of departments within Penshaw and some other locations.
Assisting with Travel and Accommodation bookings for the whole of Northern Powergrid (includes conference bookings). This will include rail and air travel as well as hotel bookings and use of a number of payment methods, including a company credit card, purchase orders and use of an external travel agent.
Assisting with the planned power cut process, raising jobs in an in house system and producing the letters in accordance with OFGEM standards.
Some participation in Call Centre overflow (assisting our call centre at busy periods for large power cuts).
Inputting salary allocation/timesheets into an in house system.
Assisting with stationery ordering and postal duties.
The successful applicant would not be involved in all of these processes, but may assist in any of them (with part or full training) dependent upon business need. This is also not a comprehensive list of all work/tasks that are completed within the section.
This is a busy section comprising of 6 staff (plus a supervisor) and the successful candidate would require:
Proven background in Administration/Purchase Order process or similar role
Strong IT skills
Good planning and organisation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confident Team Player
Desire to learn and develop
