We are working alongside one of the major players in the utilities sector in the south-east. They are looking for a commercially minded, data curious, Business Analyst to provide insight on their vacant properties portfolio by building relationships with their retailers and using data to drive visibility for the business.
You will look to challenge the data held and work with retailers to ensure the information they hold is accurate and clean.
You will be driven by reducing the ratio of vacant properties through all of the above.

The UK water industry is rapidly evolving - all business customers now have a choice of their water and wastewater supplier. This business are responding to this challenge by becoming more market-focused, and implementing innovative changes needed to enable this competitive choice.
As part of the wholesale market services, this team is required to facilitate the delivery of the business's new market obligations. They enable the sale of services to all companies licensed to operate in the water markets, this equates to over £400m of revenue that is managed within the team. As well as managing approximately £40m of risk associated with market compliance.
This is a brand new role and a unique opportunity to play a major part in shaping and driving this process, creating revenue and insight for the business. You will be provided with all the tools you need to grow within the business and embark on a successful career with them.
What will this role involve?
You will be working as part of the Wholesale Market Services Team alongside a knowledgeable and welcoming team and your key responsibilities will include:
Frequently engaging with up to 30 retailers to understand their methods around vacant properties, building relationships and working together to ensure their vacancy rates are accurately reported.
Engaging with and managing third-party teams to arrange property investigations.
Managing the receipt and analysis of vacant premises data from the Market Operator, assessing for impacts on revenue and retailer behaviour.
Working with large data sets drawn from a variety of internal and external sources, maintaining data quality in line with GDPR.
Working with the revenue reporting team to drive the revenue forecast and budgeting of vacant premises.
Supporting the delivery of a range of operational initiatives to identify occupiers and reduce levels of properties reported as vacant
What skills are we looking for?
We are seeking an individual with strong commercial awareness, someone who has keen attention to detail, exceptional analytical / numerical skills and an ability to communicate information to key stakeholders at all levels.
Due to the nature of this role you will need to have previous experience of reviewing and analysing large volumes of data and provide insight and suggested next steps.
To be successful in this role, you will be comfortable dealing with customers, proactive in seeking information and able to work with data, identify patterns and trends in order to define recommendations.
Candidates with a background in the water industry or a utilities business would be of particular interest.
Location and Salary details
This role will be based at their head office in central Reading, Berkshire. They are offering a salary of £28,000 to £32,000 per annum depending on experience.
