Job Description

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper, with a background in accountancy practice, strong all round administration skills and a naturally proactive approach to your work?…would you like the opportunity to secure a home based role and join an established Milton Keynes based accountancy and business advisory firm, that seeks to make you an integral, valued member of the team from the outset and support you in your further career development?

With offices on the edge of Milton Keynes, this highly regarded practice, with an enviable, growing client base and 23 year history, wishes to appoint a seasoned Bookkeeper that will provide knowledgeable all round support to its varying client base and as part of the dedicated team.

Working predominantly from home, due to the current Covid-19 situation, your responsibilities as Bookkeeper will include, but not be limited to:

* Maintenance of accurate client accounts

* Client liaison

* Purchase ledger, sales ledger and client receipts / payments

* Bank reconciliations

* VAT return preparation and submission

* Assisting with year-end accounts preparation

* Ad-hoc administrational tasks and projects when required

With strong demonstrable skills from within an accountancy practice environment, you’ll possess excellent experience with control accounts, bank reconciliations and VAT returns, along with a very pro-active work ethic and the natural desire to play an adaptable role within the wider team, particularly in busy periods for the business.

A confident communicator, with good inter-personal skills (both written and verbal), you’ll be a Bookkeeper that ideally has experience with Sage and Xero, though this is not essential.

In return, you’ll receive an annual starting salary of circa £23,000 - £25,000 per annum (though negotiable subject to experience), along with 25 days annual holiday entitlement plus statutory bank holidays and the option to purchase a further 5 days holiday, contributory pension scheme, healthcare and study support, if appropriate.

This is a full-time role, but applicants also perhaps seeking reduced hours are welcome.

An excellent opportunity to secure this coveted Bookkeeper position with a very well established accounting practice that enjoys an enviable and consistently expanding local client base.
