Job Description

Are you an experienced and registered Pharmacist? Do you have an all-round knowledge of hospital procedures? Are you available to start immediately in a new role?

NHS Professionals have an exciting opportunity for a registered Pharmacist with electronic prescribing system experience to support our client trust. You will be responsible for accurately and safely providing necessary care to patients engaging with the service in the Trust. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure an effective service.

Oxford University Hospitals is a world-renowned centre of clinical excellence and one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the UK. The role will be based at John Radcliffe Hospital which is Oxfordshire's main accident and emergency site. The JR provides acute medical and surgical services including trauma, intensive care, and cardiothoracic services. It is situated in Headington, about three miles east of Oxford city centre.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

To use available information to influence prescribers and ensure the most cost-effective choice of therapy.

To participate in the dispensary rota including clinical screening of prescriptions, labelling, dispensing and checking of medicines.

To participate in ward-based clinical audits and the development and implementation of treatment protocols and guidelines for use of medicines within the clinical area.

To Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings or out-patient clinics as appropriate in order to provide pharmaceutical advice to prescribers and other health care professional.

Be aware of training and competency assessment of pre-registration pharmacist trainees, diploma pharmacists and student pharmacy technicians and participate in their training and competency assessment as required.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

Registered Pharmacist with relevant and recent Hospital experience

Experience of working in clinical pharmacy in a hospital environment essential.

Knowledge of working with Cerner millennium is desirable.
