Are you a qualified Pharmacy Technician who has worked within Hospital Settings? Do you have an all-round knowledge of hospital pharmaceutical procedures?

NHS Professionals have exciting opportunities for a Pharmacy Technician to support our client trusts. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure an effective service.

The John Radcliffe Hospital (JR) is Oxfordshire's main accident and emergency site. The JR provides acute medical and surgical services including trauma, intensive care and cardiothoracic services. It is situated in Headington, about three miles east of Oxford city centre. It is the largest of the Trust's hospitals, covering around 66 acres.

The John Radcliffe site also houses many departments of Oxford University Medical School, is home to the George Pickering Education Centre and base for most medical students who are trained throughout the Trust.

The John Radcliffe Hospital is supported by Oxford Hospitals Charity.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Labelling and dispensing of medicine supplies to wards and departments including clinical trial dispensing. using the pharmacy computer system , according to the dispensary procedures; ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in processing of prescriptions.

Counselling patients that attend Pharmacy on how to take their medicines in a safe manner and warning them of possible side effects that they may experience during treatment.

Providing good customer service. when dealing with all stakeholders, with the ability to deal with demanding, stressful or emotional situations as they arise.

Receiving prescriptions from patients/ staff and receive payment for prescription charges and participating in processes to ensure that drug stock levels are monitored and accurately maintained.

Using the Pharmacy computer system and other information technology in all areas of Pharmacy. If based at the JR or CH site to be fully competent in the use of the Robotic Dispensing system, with the ability to diagnose and resolve robot issues or escalate as required.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

Candidates must have ACT and be GPhC Registered.

Part-Time candidates may be considered, minimum 3 days per week. Ideally candidates will be available Mon-Thurs.

Hospital experience desirable but not essential.
