Working as part of a Scrum Team, our Automation Test Engineer (Digital) will have responsibility for all quality assurance activities from receiving the business requirement through to being ready for QA. You will provide a comprehensive technical test function for project and product-driven changes for a specific application set, inclusive of Automation, Regression, Performance, Functional and Non Functional testing prior to releasing the feature to business users for final validation.
Your responsibilities as our Automation Test Engineer (Digital)will include:
Ensuring all functions and features undergo system, regression, integration and performance testing prior to release Business Acceptance, for a specific application set
Preparing Test cases and test plans, progress reports and end of stage reports
Actively removing blockers for test execution and the application team
Creating high-quality feature files and other automation artefacts using the BDD syntax at a story and release level
Ensuring testing activities covering the range of end to end testing are carried out
Advocating and employing automated testing tools techniques particularly to support regression testing
Taking ownership and being the ‘go to’ person for all testing advice during the development lifecycle for the applications set
Attending all Scrum Ceremonies required to actively contribute to the sprint cycle
Taking responsibility for the contributions of the offshore test team allocated to the application
Embedding a culture of agile working and continuous improvement across own business area
Supporting the development of standards, tools, techniques for testing
Mentoring and supporting Junior QA’s
What we’re looking for in our Automation Test Engineer (Digital):
Educated to at least “A” levels
ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
Experience of test analysis, execution and automation throughout the test cycle
Experience of testing web-based applications
Excellent understanding of testing approaches and methodologies
Experience with Test Tools: C#, Selenium, SpecFlow, Jenkins, Jira
Knowledge and experience in Information Technology Solutions with a high degree of business appreciation
Experience of Testing within both AGILE and V-Model development environments
The ability to continuously improve and shape the testing approach to suit the Testing function
