Job Description

Part of a major international group, this organisation produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. The company require a contract APQP Quality Engineer to coordinate and facilitate APQP processes to ensure flawless launch into production.

APQP Quality Engineer
Location: Mid Wales
Contract duration: 3 months
Shift pattern: Day shift only
Salary Negotiable based upon experience

Key Responsibilities:
o Ensuring compliance with IATF16949 and Customer Specific Requirements.
o Lead all project engineering (APQP) requirements / activities for new projects and support Project Managers. This will include process development and layouts, specification, design buy-off, assessment of modifications and final commissioning.
o Responsible for the cross functional development and implementation of process documentation from prototype to production for NPI, including Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions, Packing Instructions.
o Organise and Facilitate Run @ Rate activities; pre-production build events; compile Capacity Verification documents and associated data.
o Conduct training and mentoring for NPI and pre-production build events
o Support Design and Feasibility process for NPI and ECR
o Actively support Process/customer concern investigation activities using Global 8d techniques.

Knowledge and Education
You will already have a proven track record working as an APQP Engineer, NPI Engineer, Project Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer working with a high volume manufacturing facility
o HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject preferred or IQA equivalent
o Experience of project management of new products (NPI) from conception to final handover.
o Expert knowledge of PFMEA's, AIAG, ANPQP, APQP/PPAP and control plans.
o Selection and management of process/ equipment suppliers.
o Previous experience in automotive or high speed manufacturing environments
o Excellent problem solving ability.
o Strong communication and presentation skills.
