The role

As a DCASO Trainer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role is responsible to the Officer Commanding Defence College of Air and Space Operations (DCASO) for training, developing, and preparing future air Operations (control) personnel.

Day to day, you'll train ab-initio Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Foreign & Commonwealth military trainees for terminal ATC duties using the classroom and simulator facilities provided.
Provide refresher training for controllers who have been away from the Terminal environment for an extended period
Provide training and assessment of performances in the classroom and simulator
Produce written reports with associated gradings and narratives to reflect the trainees' performances
Provide training to the standard required by the Officer Commanding Air Traffic Control Training Squadron and act in accordance with the RAF Shawbury supervisory care directive

Essential experience of the Air Traffic Control Trainer
Previous military terminal controlling experience
Ability to provide training in accordance with the DCASO Training Quality Manual.
Background in training.

This role is based on site at RAF Shawbury.

Qualifications for the Air Traffic Control Trainer
Qualified in accordance with JSP 822.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
