Job Description

Pertemps- The Face of Recruitment are looking for a full-time Permanent Aerospace Systems Engineer Manager to work in the location of Beautiful Cheltenham.

Working hours : 37 per week - Full-time Monday to Friday 

Salary: Up to £60,000K depending on experience  plus a Company Car.

You will need a valid current Driving Licence and a valid Current Passport.

This role will require you to have the ability to meet and maintain a minimum of SC security clearance.

The candidate should have:
Substantial experience of managing technical design and development in a related field including experience in systems engineering concepts and practice. Ability to develop, implement and maintain effective plans. The ability to clearly and logically present information.
Excellent communication and organisation skills with ability to operate as part of a team encompassing all company business departments.
Disciplined enthusiasm with a good attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude.Commitment to quality.The demeanour to represent the Company in a positive manner.

Responsibilities:
To develop and maintain a competent Engineering infrastructure and capability with flexibility and able to support existing contracts and support new initiatives or bids. To resource, manage and monitor the Engineering Department to perform design analysis and development activities on engineering projects, ensuring contracted deliver-ables are accurately established, efficiently progressed, effectively monitored and achieved in a timely manner, to budget and of the required quality, fidelity and com-pliancy.
To ensure consistency and com-pliancy of system design development including post-delivery support activities; such as upgrades, modifications and repairs is managed and maintained. To ensure the creation and implementation of effective plans and the development of efficient, innovative and supportable design solutions are established.To develop, maintain and support business plans and budgets.

This shall include:
Bid support, when required.
Requirements capture and definition, as required.
Planning and resourcing of Engineering department, including detailed budgets, human resources, and skill requirements, as well as facility requirements.
Implementation and monitoring of Engineering tasks
Verification and validation of com-pliancy of designed and manufactured product.
To manage and develop the Engineering process and work procedures in accordance with Company Business Management System and contract specific requirements.To ensure system designs meet all statutory & legislative requirements.To maintain configuration and change control of design outputs
Ensuring the capability for proactively researching, evaluating and developing innovative product design solutions to maintain the Company's business advantage and product development strategy. To foster an environment of accountability, delivery expertise, customer focus and product and technical innovation. Use technical literature and other means to acquire any necessary technical knowledge.
Promote and develop Company capabilities. Represent the Company as required, including presentations/briefings to prospective customers. Be aware of Health and Safety in the work environment with regards to statutory requirements and company policies and, contribute to the maintenance of a safe working environment at all times. Ensuring that the security of Company, customer and supplier material is controlled as appropriate to the relevant security marking. Supporting the development of; and compliance with, Company's policies, processes and work procedures. To keep the Board aware of all aspects of project progress and of major developments affecting progress of current programmes.

Other General Duties:
Represent the Company in a favourable light on all occasions. Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment wherever work is carried out and ensure safe working practices are implemented and maintained at all times. Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and, company policies, procedures and engineering instructions. Implement due regard and consideration to the physical and intellectual security of the buildings, products and information at all times wherever work is carried out. Ensure that all company information is maintained in accordance with Company procedures. Liaise effectively within the Company and maintain good relations with staff and departments. Engender a positive attitude and determination that all tasks are accurately performed and completed on time.

Documentation & Reports:
Provide written and verbal reports/metrics as required to support progression and performance of projects and compliance against contracted and internal requirements.
Ensuring written reports/records on plans, reviews of technical development and com-pliancy of system product design development are created and maintained.
Verbal and written reports as required.
