Job Description

A prestigious US Law Firm based in the heart of the city is looking to hire a new Accounts Assistant to join the London office on an initial 3-6 Month FTC. Responsibilities will include working in a team of 3 contributing to an efficient accounts payable service by opening and sorting the accounts team's post, distrubuting invoices to the relevant budget holders, ensuring they're coded and authorised correctly and in line with office and firm policy, inputting invoices into the purchase ledger system and ensure they are paid promptly within supplier timeframes, proactively offering assistance to fellow Accounts Payable Assistant, Accounts Payable Coordinator and Assistant Finance Manager in reconciling large supplier accounts, inculuding the catering and taxi services, assisting with weekly supplier payment runs and any ad hoc urgent payments, being able to handle foreign payments, post direct debits and prepare petty cash payments, preparing PSA schedules in respect of evening meals and late night taxis, making disbursement payments to ensure compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules, checking and processing lawyer and staff expenses claims, ensuring compliance with authorisation requirements and office / firm policy, acting as a point of contact within the Accounts team by dealing with internal and external queries by phone and email, ensuring that all accounts payable documentation is scanned, filed and / or archived as appropriate, assisting with other ad hoc duties in relation to office expenditure as and when required. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years experience working within a law firm, strong organisational and prioritisational skills and the ability to work within a team. Standard hours are 9.30am - 5.30pm
