2nd Chef – 3* Hotel/1AA Rosette Kitchen – Brixham - £25k + Tips


Role Overview:


We are working with a family run hotel in Brixham with a team of around 30 staff, many having trained and developed hotel over the years. They are located right in the heart of Brixham, overlooking the harbour and the sea. The hotel has been run by the same family for over twenty years. This gives the hotel a unique charm and character which cannot be found in chain hotels today. The hotel is looking to recruit a well-rounded 2nd chef to work alongside the head to continue its success in maintaining its rosette.  As a 2nd Chef you will work up to 45 hours per week, working 5/7 days on a mixture of shift patterns.


Main duties and responsibilities of the 2nd Chef role:


  • Implement Health & Safety legislation and COSHH at all times

  • Preparation of food for large volumes of customers

  • Being organised and working as part of a team, as well as delegating to other chefs

  • Deputising in absence of Head Chef

  • Assist in menu planning

  • Producing a variety of meals to a high standard

What you need to be successful in the 2nd Chef role:


  • Past experience working in hotels & preferable a rosette background

  • Excellent communication and able to work as part of a team

  • Works well under pressure

  • NVQ’s level 1, 2 or equivalent

  • Enthusiastic personality and willingness to learn & develop
